Gloucester Lions Club President Fred Barrett presented a cheque for $2000.00 to Jennifer Smylie, Clinical Manager, Women’s Breast Health Centre and Cancer Assessment Clinic on Tuesday April 15 at Falcon Ridge Golf Club.

The donation in support of the Ottawa Hospital Women’s Breast Health Centre (WBHC) represents the proceed from the club’s “Fall Fashion Show” held in October at the Gloucester Lions Hall featuring originals designs from the collection of Ashton, Ontario fashion designer Judy Joannou.

Jennifer gave club members and guests an excellent presentation on the important work of the WBHC, which provides breast imaging, biopsy, diagnosis, risk assessment, surgical planning and psychosocial support for patients, and their families. Also highlighted was the plan to expand and consolidate services at a new state-of-the-art Breast Health Centre to be built at the General Campus of The Ottawa Hospital.
