Vision Testing In Schools

Lions Club of District A-4, in partnership with Canadian Council for the Blind and Ottawa School Boards have established vision testing for students from junior kindergarten to grade 8. Lions volunteers from various clubs, conduct the elementary testing, which is then passed on to an optometrist who continues the process by performing an eye health check. The program has been very successful, and in general the findings show that 30% of these students require some kind of additional visual intervention and/or glasses.
